i just bought a chevy aveo ,new, and i got 13 percent interest rates.I put $4000 down.Would anyone know if this is bad credit interest or average credit interest.I know that in california if you get six to seven percent interest this is good credit. hopefully someone that works in financing can answer this,as the car dealer will not tell me if i was found to have my credit good or bad.Note:i have my 3 trw’s.

I have a bankruptcy in my past and both of my boy’s vehicles were on it and I just bought a used 2007 Taurus and got 8% car loan interest rate from http://quick-and-easy-auto-loan-usa.blogspot.com/ . This is in Nebraska.

That’s not a terrible rate, but not great either, and i would say it falls on the lower end of an average credit interest rate (APR). I am a finance manager and my specialty is subprime finance. The contracts I oftentimes write are with interest rates in the upper teens to upper 20’s.
The best rates right now for new Chevy Aveos, or any new cat matter, are in the 4.5% range.
I would look to rebuild your credit and try to refinance. If you can get into that 6-7% you mentioned it could save you quite a bit of money in finance charges.

Its not an easy question. Good credit or bad all have varying degrees. Thats why there are numerical credit scores.
The lower your credit, the higher interest you will generally pay. Note, that with some buy here, pay here dealers, you wont pay ANY interest.
They will sell you an $800 car for $600 down with a balance of $4500 but no interest.
Arkansas has a law limiting interest rates to something incredibly low for everyone. This just insures they pay more than the car is worth rather than a high interest rate.
Many subprime finance companies charge up to 29.99%.
But, again, its all relative.
Would you rather pay $5000 at 29% or $9000 at 15% ?
Just because you see a decent or low interest rate doesnt mean you are getting a good deal.
