the earlier you pay the better it looks. also pay more than the minimum payment and in the future banks will be fighting to finance you
Auto finance is what I do for a living and as long as the payment arrives before the due date you should be fine.
I would suggest mailing it at least 1 week before it’s due to allow for our slow mail system.
Whenever it is best for you… there’s no time that is better than the other, as long as it is always on time. The key is to make it a habit so you’ll never forget or accidentally run out of money before it’s paid. So, for instance, if you get paid two weeks before your payment is due, just pay it right then.
If mailing the payment 10 days
If paying online where it is credited next day then 3 days
Enjoy the car!
The best option is to contact your lender and request an automatic monthly debit. They can help you set up a monthly transfer from your checking or savings account to the lender in order to cover your car payment. They can do this a couple days before the due date if you like.
This helps you always stay current and it is free. Good luck!
You purchased a new car in order to not mess up your credit?
One has nothing to do with the other… and if you are late or have a repo because the new car is more then you can afford, it will really mess up your credit.
You need to pay ASAP…. if saves you interest, and it saves the risk of you being late. You need to pay the payment as soon as you get paid.
If your car payment is do on the first and you get paid on the 20th, then pay the payment on the 20th. If you can pay earlier, pay earlier.
If you are mailing the payment, I’d mail it at least a week before the due date.
The lender won’t report you as being late unless you’re 30 days or more past your due date. However, I would imagine there is a late charge if you don’t pay on time. You don’t want that.
